01 — Who We Are

A bit about Fairlight

Fairlight Creative is a strategically led production company based in Hitchin. Our DNA is a fusion of strategic insight, freelance agility, and boutique agency precision — combining strategy, speed, and craft to deliver creative work that drives real-world impact.

We work with ambitious brands across campaigns, events, social content, and creative direction. Everything we do is underpinned by our Red Thread Framework — a strategic through-line that connects creative direction to real business objectives, ensuring the work we make actually works.

We have grown entirely through relationships and the reputation of our work. Now we are growing more deliberately — and we are looking for someone to grow with us.

02 — The Role

What this role is about

This is a senior, client-facing role at the heart of how Fairlight works. We are looking for someone who can own creative strategy for our clients and build the kind of trusted relationships that make those clients stay, grow, and refer others — not through selling, but through the quality of their thinking and the depth of their partnership.

You will take briefs, shape strategy, produce compelling strategy documents and moodboards in Figma, and guide clients through the creative process from discovery to delivery. You will work closely with our Creative Director to ensure every project is both strategically grounded and creatively elevated.

Equally important is the relationship side. Fairlight has grown entirely through trust and reputation. Our best clients come back because they feel genuinely looked after and believe in what we do for them. You will carry that standard — deepening existing client relationships, identifying opportunities to do more together, and becoming the person those clients think of first when they have a new brief or a new challenge.

This is not a new business hunting role. You will not be cold outreaching or prospecting. Your commercial contribution comes from growing the clients you already have — and handling inbound opportunities that come your way with the same confidence and care.

Your responsibilities

Creative Strategy

  • Develop and shape creative concepts, moodboards, and strategy documents in Figma
  • Proactively define strategic approaches that clearly communicate vision and direction
  • Produce internal and external strategy briefs for smooth handovers to production and creative teams
  • Ensure all project strategies are clear, actionable, and aligned with client goals and brand direction
  • Apply our Red Thread Framework — connecting creative direction to real client business objectives at every stage
Account Growth & Relationships
  • Own a portfolio of Fairlight's existing clients — retainers and ongoing project relationships
  • Build deep, trusted relationships where clients see you as a genuine strategic partner, not just a supplier
  • Identify opportunities to deepen and grow accounts naturally through the quality of your thinking and attention
  • Ensure clients think of Fairlight first when new briefs, budgets, or challenges arise
  • Handle inbound enquiries confidently — lead discovery conversations, write proposals, and guide new clients in
Client & Account Growth
  • Act as the primary point of contact for your own portfolio of clients
  • Build strong, trusted relationships — ensuring client vision is understood and realised
  • Present strategy documents, concepts, and progress updates clearly to clients and internal teams
  • Deepen relationships so clients think of Fairlight first — and spend more over time
  • Identify upsell opportunities and grow accounts organically through the quality of your work and relationships

  • Take ownership of client communications throughout each project
  • Translate client briefs into clear objectives and actionable guidance for the team

  • Contribute to a culture where the work and the people both thrive
04 — Who You Are

The person we are looking for

Commercially sharp
You understand that great creative work has to deliver results. You are comfortable talking about objectives, outcomes, and value — and you spot opportunities to do more for a client before they have to ask.
A natural relationship builder
Clients trust you quickly and stay loyal because of you. You listen well, follow through on everything, and make people feel genuinely looked after. The relationship outlasts any single project.
Genuinely strategic
You ask the right questions, understand what success looks like for a client, and shape creative direction around that. You are curious, culturally aware, and passionate about ideas that deliver real impact.
Visually articulate
You can bring strategic thinking to life through well-crafted, visually clear documents and moodboards. Competent in Figma.
Self-sufficient
You do not need constant direction to do great work. You manage your own clients, your own time, and your own priorities — and you know when to loop people in and when to just get on with it.
05 — Skills & Experience

What you will bring

Essential

  • Proven experience in a senior client-facing role at a creative, production, or content agency
  • Ability to develop and lead creative briefs from scratch — defining the strategic direction, not just interpreting it
  • Strong understanding of brand storytelling, audience engagement, and content strategy
  • Excellent visual communication skills — Figma or similar for decks, moodboards, and strategy documents
  • Confident presenting strategic thinking to clients and guiding them through creative decisions
  • Track record of growing and retaining client accounts through the quality of relationships and work
  • Strong written and verbal communication — clear, compelling, and confident at all levels
  • Highly organised — able to manage multiple clients and projects simultaneously
  • Experience working with or alongside a production or creative team

Nice to have

  • Existing network of brand contacts
  • Experience with CRM tools and pipeline management
  • Understanding of paid social, SEO, or digital marketing channels
  • Comfortable presenting to senior stakeholders at brand level

We do not want a cover letter that tells us you are passionate about creativity. We want to know how you think, what you have built, and why Fairlight feels like the right fit for where you want to go next.

Send us a short note — however you want to write it — and anything that shows us your work or your thinking. That could be strategy documents, Figma decks, proposals you have written, campaigns you are proud of, or just a clear explanation of what you have done and what you want to do.
